How to Avoid Paying Spirit Airlines’ New Carry-On Bag Fee of $100
I used to love flying on Spirit Airlines. They used to be so friendly, and their prices were really great to the destinations they serviced. While they are still considered a “bargain airline,” be aware that they are charging more and more for carry-on bag fees and other hidden fees.
When you are checking Spirit Airlines’ ticket prices, be sure to figure in their additional costs. They have charges for checked-in baggage and overweight baggage and oversize baggage and sporting equipment and seat reservations and special services and food and drink, in addition to hefty cancellation or modification fees.
No, they aren’t alone in this outrage, but they are only one of two airlines who charge fees for carry-on luggage. And now they’re going to raise their fees. Do you think $45 for a carry-on bag is a little steep? I do, since most airlines allow FREE carry-ons. They’ve been charging that since 2010.
However, as of November 2012, you could be paying as much as $100 per carry-on bag on Spirit Airlines!! That could be more than the cost of your airline ticket!
