What is a “ZED”?

Not only is the United States the last global hold-out for using the metric system, it appears that it is also the only English-speaking country in the world which refers to the last letter in the alphabet as “zee.”  In Canada, Great Britain, and most other English-speaking countries, the last letter in the alphabet is called “zed.”  Now you know!
