Free Admission for Military Families at Blue Star Museums

Blue Star Museums logoThe National Endowment for the Arts has established a program called Blue Star Museums.  Participating museums offer free admission for all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

More than a thousand museums are participating in the United States, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa; and more are being added every day.  These range from children’s museums and fine art museums to history and science museums and nature centers.

To gain free access, you must show your Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID caard, or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, including those stamped URW and DB.  Even if your spouse is deployed you can bring your family to these museums if you have one of the above cards.

Blue Star Museums is a partnership among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families (an organization which raises awareness of the challenges and strengths of military family life), and more than 1,300 museums. To learn more about Blue Star Families, visit BlueStarFam.org.
