Chateau Camping in France

Exactly 50 years ago, a novel idea was born.  Georges Pilliet began to encourage chateau owners to open up their properties to campers.  Some agreed, and the first outdoor hotel chain was born.  It was called Les Castels.  Today, there are 39 cha-teaux, country homes, and historic houses in the Castels family.

Many of these four-star campgrounds provide activities for the entire family.  The campsites are located amidst magnificent landscapes with breath-taking views.  Usually located on many acres of land, you have plenty of opportunities for peaceful relaxation.

Services include restaurants, bars, stores, Internet access, and ATM machines.  Most of the Castels allow tents as well as RVs or camper-vans, although a few do not have tent sites available.

But what they all have is great quality at thrifty prices; a very affordable way to see France.

The best way to learn about the different properties is by visiting their website at http://www.les-castels.com/en.
