150 German Christmas Markets: A Book Review

150 German Christmas Markets book coverI recently was lucky enough to come across a new book that transported me to Germany at Christmas.  While I have always loved the German countryside, architecture, and culture, I had no idea that Germany celebrated Christmas in such a magical way.

The book title is 150 German Christmas Markets: Where to Go and What to Buy.  The title says it all.  There are descriptions of the cities you can visit, special dates and events that you need to know about, and what traditional Christmas goods, food, and drink to buy.  Each area is enhanced with full-color photos.

Even if you are an armchair traveler, after reading this delightful book by Joy Anderson, you will feel like you’ve experienced Germany at Christmas and just might start making plans for a trip there for next year.

Anderson also includes supplemental travel information such as air travel and rail travel, as well as Christmas market cruises and land tours.

This book should be in every traveler’s library.

Right now, 150 German Christmas Markets is available in both a PDF edition and a Kindle edition.  Visit GermanyAtChristmas.com for ordering information and lots of wonderful information about, and photos of, German Christmas markets.

Even if there are others who have more of a frequent flyer status on the airline, if those passengers are wearing jeans and flip-flops and you’re dressed nicely, the airline would prefer to have you upgraded to First Class where its best customers are.
